Shannon & Friends is an English-language Irish children's animated sitcom created by Jon Power. According to Power, this program is aimed at preteens and teenagers, and is supposed to be educational, but turned out to be at more "action and adventure" level. Its debut episode, "When Shannon Comes Around", aired in Ireland on the Emerald Channel in May 2003. The show proved to be a hit since then.
A video game based on the show was released for the Nintendo DS across the globe in fall 2008, selling an estimated 358 million copies worldwide, including Ireland.
In September 2022, Shannon & Friends was renewed for a twenty-second season. Power also announced that season 23 will be written shortly after season 22 premieres.
